Makari is a cash practice and does not bill insurance. Payment is due at each visit. HSA and FSA cards are accepted, and a superbill is available for you to submit yourself. A first visit, the initial evaluation, is $225, separate from any package.

Your first visit
Plan on about 75 minutes. We take a full history, read your pulse and tongue, and in most cases treat on the same day. You will leave with a clear picture of your pattern and a plan, including its fee. The initial evaluation is $225, a separate fee that is not included in any package; see fees and treatment plans. Makari is a cash practice and does not bill insurance.
Wear comfortable clothes that roll up past the knee and elbow, and eat a light meal an hour or two beforehand.
Returning visits
Follow-up visits run about an hour. Your plan sets the pace, and we review it together as things change.
Intake forms
Your booking confirmation includes a link to the intake forms. Filling them in before you arrive gives us more time together on the day.
Telemedicine
Video visits are available by appointment and booked online. They take the same clinician time as a clinic visit and are priced the same way; needling still needs a visit in person. More on our telemedicine page.

Do you take walk-ins?

What hours are available?
We do not publish fixed hours. Appointments begin in the afternoon and run into the evening, with alternating weekend hours. Exact availability for each location is in the online scheduler.
Do you take insurance?
No. Makari is a cash practice and does not bill insurance; payment is due at each visit. We accept health savings account (HSA) and flexible spending account (FSA) cards, and a superbill is available the day after your visit for you to submit yourself. We do not take personal injury cases on a lien or through insurance. See fees and treatment plans.
What is your cancellation policy?
We ask for 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment. A cancellation fee applies when that notice isn't given. Visits are moved and cancelled in the online scheduler.
Do you offer telemedicine visits?
Yes, by appointment, booked online like any visit. A telemedicine visit uses the same clinician time as a visit in the clinic, so it is priced like one. For ongoing herbal support, online herbal care with Rootworth is the more efficient option.
