Where fertility care starts
Trying to conceive can mean a hundred small decisions a month, and a lot of waiting in between. Some people arrive with a clear diagnosis, others with a workup that found nothing, and others mid-way through IVF. The classical reading is the same starting point for all of them: what the cycle is telling us, month by month, about the terrain underneath.
Your reproductive endocrinologist, IVF clinic, OB or midwife stays in charge of the medical side. We fit around their plan and their calendar.

How we work with it
A first visit is a long conversation: the cycle in detail, past pregnancies, sleep, digestion, stress and what you have already tried. From there, acupuncture and herbal formulas are chosen for your pattern and adjusted as you move through the month. If you are in an active IVF or IUI cycle, herbs are only used with your clinic's knowledge, and every formula is checked against your medications. Between visits, we watch what you watch: cycle length, the bleed, the mid-cycle signs, sleep and energy.
Questions people ask
Can acupuncture help me get pregnant?
Acupuncture and herbs are studied as support for the cycle and for people going through fertility treatment, and research is ongoing. We cannot guarantee conception, and we will not suggest otherwise. What we offer is a careful pattern reading and a plan that changes with each phase of your cycle.
My tests all came back normal. Is there anything to read?
Often, yes. A normal workup rules out a lot, and that is valuable. The classical lens then looks at sleep, digestion, temperature, stress and the character of the cycle itself, which can point to a pattern worth treating even when the numbers sit in range.
Do I need lab work before my first visit?
No. We do not require lab panels before treating. If you have results from your physician or fertility clinic, bring them and we will explain what they describe, but the pattern is read from your cycle, pulse, tongue and history.
Should my partner come in too?
It helps. Sperm health is half of the picture, and a partner can be seen on their own visit. Our [male fertility](/conditions/male-fertility/) page explains how that reading works.
