About Us

Combining Ancient Wisdom & Modern Methods For Clinical Excellence Since 2005.

What makes our treatments unique

Makari Wellness excels at combining Ancient Wisdom with Modern Methods. Michael Woodworth has been practicing Chinese Medicine for 15+ years and has continually pursued post-graduate training in various specialties of Acupuncture and Classical Chinese Herbal Medicine. Michael pursued training with other healthcare professionals in the fields of Chiropractic, Massage, Physical Therapy and Exercise rehabilitation to create a synergistic approach to rapid and lasting treatment of pain and orthopedics. It’s our expert combination of multiple disciplines that provide results beyond other therapists.

It is all our training and experience in combining the following that results in our continued success: Orthopedic Dry-Needling of Trigger Points, Motor Points & Scar Tissue. Active Release Techniques (A.R.T.) & Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Management (IASTM) (Guasha/ Graston) & Myofascial Skeletal Alignment Techniques for acute and chronic pain as well as overuse, repetitive strains, Adhesions, Chronic Shortening and Scarring, Posture. Functional Movement (FMS/SFMA), Posture & Motor Control Corrections.

Continued study and practice in Traditional Chinese and Japanese Acupuncture along with Moxibustion and herbal medicine allows us to effectively treat or assist in treating virtually any internal illness. We operate a custom herbal pharmacy and create effective treatment strategies for each specific individual and their condition. It is our experience, training and continued dedication to being one of the best that sets our treatments and results apart from others.

Our Founder

Michael Woodworth L.Ac

Early on I realized that human health is very complex and involves both internal and external inter-relations. No one discipline held all the answers. Fortunately being a licensed acupuncturist allowed me the latitude to study many disciplines with the only drawback being what insurance companies would actually reimburse me to perform. Only concerned with solving challenges I set out to acquire the absolute best skill of various therapies for my clinic and to teach to my children (if they are interested). I worked and studied with Chiropractors for 9 years, physical therapists for 5 years and trained non-stop the entire time with the leaders in various professional fields. From internal medicine, Chinese herbalists, osteopaths, ART therapists, functional movement and posture experts to strength and martial arts experts. 12 Years later we have 2 clinics and help countless people live better and healthier lives.

We work extremely hard bringing you the absolute best of both internal and external medicine from both Eastern and Western Natural Medicine. From our family to yours, our goal is to help our community live the best life they can with those they love. We maintain rigorous certifications in the ART (Active Release Technique), SFMA (Specific Functional Movement Assessment), FMS (Functional Movement Screen), and ICEAM (Internal Classics of East Asian Medicine) disciplines allowing us to address many conditions that have not responded to other treatments. Michael continues to acquire the most effective techniques in needling, manual manipulations (Osteopathic, Medical Massage, Orthopedic tractions), physical therapy, posture rehabilitation, and functional movement corrections to create truly unique, customized and extremely effective treatments.

“When it comes to my family and loved ones I want the very best care for them- I expect you want the same…” for this reason I have trained and studied rigorously and consistently since I opened my practice in 2005 and will continue to do so. Achieving mastery is a lifelong endeavor and we will always be improving to be ready for whatever may come our way. When not pursuing clinical excellence Michael spends is the chief instructor of Close-Quarter-Concepts.Com where he teaches a variety of martial arts and internal cultivations, all the while maintaining his status as a student himself.
