“Micro Acupuncture 48” is currently the Gold Standard in Ophthalmic Acupuncture. Acupuncture is a safe and effective treatment that has been used tomanage and prevent disease for over 4,000 years. The Micro Acupuncture 48 system was first introduced in Europe in the 1980’s and was then further developed and refined by Dr. Andy Rosenfarb, author of The Black Book of Micro Acupuncture 48. The objective is to help patients recover lost vision if possible, and to help preserve vision long-term. We accomplish this by increasing blood flow to the eye, reducing inflammation, controlling ocular oxidative stress and improving detoxification of solid and liquid waste that builds up in the eye. Our treatment methods can also increase your body’s own stem cell activity and production by up to 300%. Stem cells are critical for photoreceptor nerve repair and vascular regeneration. Patients get baseline vision testing done at least two weeks before the first treatment. This can be done through your local eye doctor and/or with your Certified MA48 (C.MA48) acupuncturist. A second round of vision testing is done to confirm a positive measurable response. Your C.MA48 acupuncturists will then follow up with a report of findings and recommend the next stages of your treatment. In addition to acupuncture, diet modifications, nutritional supplements, Chinese Herbs, and lifestyle recommendations may be offered to sustain positive changes in your vision. Treatment consists of hair-thin acupuncture needles gently placed into the hands, feet and forehead. Each treatment will last for a duration of approximately 25 minutes.
